You wont be disappointed if you get this KDL40V3000 screen. Playing games and DVD's are stunning.

Review 1: I bought this KDL40V3000 tv with a ps3 as part of the deal they have going on here, and i'm over the moon at what I got. Best investment ever!

Review 2: After toning the KDL-40V3000 backlight right down and pulling the contrast down a bit, it looks great in standard definition.

With my ps3 hooked up with a HDMI cable the graphics just win.

I have the KDL40V3000 in my bedroom and its a great upgrade from my old 14" samsung tv. The delivery was nice, and came on the day it was promised by play.com

I would recommend this TV and a PS3 to go with it to anyone, and the freeview is great!

Review 3: Sony products to me are often a bit overpriced simply because you are paying quite a bit for the badge, however this KDL40V3000 is an exceptional TV at this price! The gloss bezel is very classy and the set looks expensive without being showy.

The KDL40V3000 Bravia has good connectivity, with 3 HDMI sockets (one on the side), a few RGB scarts, VGA and a single component input. Be aware that VGA only supports up to a max of 720p, which may put off some PC users who want to use this as a monitor or 360 users who don't want to use component.

Running from an HD source (I have 360, PS3 and Blu-ray) the picture is absolutely mind blowing, accurate colours, good blacks and a smooth motion (Blu-ray - go for a player that supports 24fps).

Given the size of the KDL-40V3000 screen, Freeview playback is quite good and certainly much better than a shop demo would have you believe. I tweaked the settings to soften the image and hide some of the mpeg noise and am very pleased with it. You'll find channels from the BBC look very good, but some of the other channels with less bandwidth do suffer.

Apart from the capped VGA input, I would say that there are two other limitations. The first limitation of this KDL40V3000 television is that it doesn't support 120hz. This means that you can occasionally see juddering on any source outputting 50/60hz when the camera is panning across (eg Freeview watching football or DVD movies) - however most people will not notice this. I can see it, but didn't think it was worth spending the extra money on. You'll need to see some in action to make your own mind up!

The second limitation of this KDL40V3000 is that the sound is not much to write home about. Tinny and occasionally losing the voices on movie soundtracks under the music, I make a point of using my stereo now. The impact of a good movie can be completely lost when you have a big lovely picture and poor sound!

Overall though, chuffed to bits! Watch a good DVD or Blu-ray movie, or shoot some bad guys on this and you'll never need the cinema again!
